THE THIRD FLOOR LONDON is proud to have contributed extensive previs and postvis for Wonder Woman (Warner Bros.), collaborating closely with director Patty Jenkins, visual effects supervisor Bill Westenhofer and their teams.  From beach battles across the entirety of the movie’s third act, THE THIRD FLOOR’s work, supervised by Vincent Aupetit, was used as the filmmakers explored creative ideas, visualized effects-heavy sequences, planned requirements for physical shoots and prepped plates for editorial and finishing.

THE THIRD FLOOR worked with directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg and visual effects supervisor Gary Brozenich on Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, helping visualize and develop key action sequences from the ground up.  From shark and cannon fights to climactic sea scenes, THE THIRD FLOOR’s artists — led by Nick Markel and Chris Williams, mapped out creative ideas and produced high-end techvis to inform fight choreography and the use of massive practical pirate ships used during production.

THE THIRD FLOOR visualized eight sequences for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, directed by Guy Ritchie for Warner Bros. Previs supervisor Shannon Justison and postvis supervisor Justin Summers led THE THIRD FLOOR’s London team in realizing scenes from the streets of Londinium to the Darklands to the final climactic battle at the Tower. This included technical visualization in conjunction with the stunt team, a virtual Camelot scout to guide the Wales shoot, vis-dev on the powers of Excalibur, and developing sequences with fantasy creatures and massive battles.

Marking work on its 11th Marvel film released since 2010, THE THIRD FLOOR is excited to have created the previs, postvis and techvis for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.  James Baker, who earlier led THE THIRD FLOOR’s previs, techvis and postvis on Guardians of the Galaxy, headed a visualization team that collaborated closely with director James Gunn as well as key contributors in visual effects, cinematography, editorial and art direction.

Key scenes across the movie — from opening credits to the Space Chase sequence to the final battle, were extensively visualized to help map the action and plan filming and stunts from a technical point of view.  Previs also aided the process of exploring and developing character moments for Rocket and Baby Groot.

THE THIRD FLOOR is proud to have contributed previs, postvis and on-set virtual production for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Work included helping to block the action and developing camerawork for sets and scenes featuring a large cast of CG characters. The work brought together input from the director and collaborators from cinematography, stunts, dance choreography, lighting, second unit and visual effects to help pre-plan signature musical showpieces and inform the physical shoot. Techvis visualizations helped determine crane and camera positions in relation to sets and could be used to directly drive the shooting rigs or facilitate Simulcam overlays on set.

So proud of THE THIRD FLOOR’s London Artist Magali Barbé and her personal short film project about Augmented Reality, Strange Beasts. We always love to see our employees’ passion projects outside of TTF. It’s getting such great traction it even got featured on Huffington Post!

THE THIRD FLOOR was responsible for visualizing numerous sequences for the feature movie Power Rangers (Lionsgate), directed by Dean Israelite.  Artists, headed by Supervisors Todd Constantine and Javier Lopez-Duprey, collaborated with the filmmakers and visual effects supervisor Sean Faden. The final work included major action beats and informed how hero characters that formed robots reaching heights of over 100-feet tall could be depicted within real-world locations.  The work covered multiple attack and battle scenes, as well as the movie’s large-scale ending.

Following work on 2014’s Godzilla, The Third Floor is excited to have contributed to Kong: Skull Island (Warner Bros.), the most recent installment in Legendary Entertainment’s MonsterVerse movie franchise.

Previs artists headed by The Third Floor’s Supervisor Mark Nelson and postvis artists led by Supervisor Marcelino Newquist worked with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, Visual Effects Supervisor Stephen Rosenbaum and Production Designer Stefan Dechant to help visualize story action, creature effects, environments and technical setups for key scenes on a mysterious island where explorers encounter the mythic King Kong.
